Email campaigns
Also referred to as sequential email follow-ups, email campaigns allow you to send a series of personalized email templates to assigned contacts. Email campaigns can be associated with any contact group.
The email campaign templates are scheduled to be sent in specified intervals of time, for example:
- Template 1 - sent right after the contact is assigned to group (delay 0)
- Template 2 - sent 7 days after template 1 (delay 7)
- Template 3 - sent 14 days after template 2 (delay 14)
- Template 4 - sent 30 days after template 3 (delay 30)
A delay is expressed in the number of days elapsed since the previous template.
NB! Email campaign will be automatically deactivated when you edit the templates. You will need to activate the campaign when finished with editing, otherwise campaign emails will not be sent out.

If you have HTML email newsletter template already designed in an outside application you can transfer it to Relenta by following these steps:

- In compose or create template window, switch to Rich text formatting
- Click on HTML source button to open HTML source window
- Open your HTML design source code in text-editing application and select all text
- Paste the selected text into HTML source window in Relenta, making sure to replace all of the content that was there originally
- Click "Update" button
To switch between HTML and plain text formatting, click on the toggle link in compose window as shown below:

When in HTML mode, you can use HTML signatures and canned responses. Simply copy and paste the HTML source code into identity signature or canned response field (both are accessible in department settings).
Email campaign and 'mail to group' messages are not sent instantaneously.
If email is to be sent to less than 50 contacts, emails are queued in the Outbox and sent out with up to 5-minute delay.
If email is to be sent to 51+ contacts, emails are sent out with up to 15-minute delay.
If you need to send an instant automatic message to contact, use Autoresponder functionality instead of (or in addition to) email campaign templates.
To include an unsubscribe (remove) link, enter the following macro in email body:
[REMOVE]
It will be replaced with the actual link when the message is sent. It will work only in email campaign templates and mail-to-group emails.
Note that you can't use the unsubscribe link in emails that are sent manually to individual contacts.
To insert an unsubscribe link (or any other hyperlink) when composing a "Mail to group" or creating an email campaign template in Rich text mode, follow these steps:
- Highlight the words that you want to link, i.e. 'click here to unsubscribe'
- Click on the 'Insert/edit link' button on the formatting toolbar
- In the Link URL field in the pop up window, enter [REMOVE] (or URL of the hyperlink)
- Click Save
Not at this time, but we are working on it.
When a contact unsubscribes from email campaign by clicking on 'remove' link in email, 'removed' flag is set and this recipient will not receive further emails in this campaign. The contact will remain assigned to the group with which email campaign is associated.
Users click on 'remove' link at the bottom of each email to confirm that they wish to be removed from this email campaign (mailing list).
Recipients will see your campaign description when they click on 'remove' link in email to confirm that they want to unsubscribe.
