How do I setup Gmail IMAP and SMTP accounts?

First, you will need to enable IMAP in your Gmail account:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click 'Settings' at the top of any Gmail page.
  3. Click 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' in the orange 'Mail Settings' box.
  4. Choose your options and click 'Save Changes'

Then configure Relenta to access Gmail IMAP and SMTP mail servers.

Go to Settings > Email accounts tab, and click on 'Add incoming email account' link.

Incoming mail (IMAP)
Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Username: your full Gmail email address (ex. 'john.smith@gmail.com'). Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
Use secure connection (SSL): YES (box checked)

Click 'Save', then 'Add outgoing email account':

Outgoing mail (SMTP)
Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465 or 587
Username: your full Gmail email address (ex. 'john.smith@gmail.com'). Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
Use secure connection: YES (box checked)

Click 'Save'
